Welcome to the inaugural episode of the UMD INFO college’s new podcast, Biblioterp! Each episode will feature a groundbreaking book by—or recommended by—INFO college faculty members around ongoing and emerging information science topics.
In this episode, host Dr. Jen Golbeck talks with INFO faculty member Dr. Diana Marsh about her book, From Extinct Monsters to Deep Time: Conflict, Compromise, and the Making of Smithsonian’s Fossil Halls
In the book (now in paperback), Dr. Marsh provides a grounded perspective on the inner-workings of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History (the world’s most visited natural history museum) as it prepared for its largest-ever exhibit renovation, Deep Time—and provides a unique insight into the challenges and social processes of communicating science to the public.
