Rachael has 20+ years of experience in usability, human-computer interaction, and accessibility. She consults on usability and accessibility and runs Accessible Community, a non-profit dedicated to helping small organizations become accessible. She also co-chairs the W3C Accessibility Guidelines Working Group and co-facilitates the Cognitive and Learning Disabilities Accessibility Task Force.
Rachael has an MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park. Her current research focuses on:
- Using online communities and crowd-sourcing to address accessibility issues, and
- The intersection of usability and accessibility in the digital and physical world.
