Connie’s research lies at the intersection of acculturation, culture brokering, and sociolinguistic identity with an interest in ethical ESOL education. She is a former public librarian and DEI speaker for the Association of Southeastern Research Libraries. She currently works with Dr. Ana Ndumu on the Libraries, Integration, and New Americans grant project. In her free time she volunteers teaching English to immigrants and refugees with the Washington English Center.
