Prison Libraries and Education Access Support [PLEAS] Reading Space
American Library Association. (2019, January 29). Prisoners’ Right to Read: An Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights.
Lehmann, V. (2011). Challenges and Accomplishments in U.S. Prison Libraries. Library Trends 59(3), 490-508. doi:10.1353/lib.2011.0001
If you prefer to read on PDFs, a copy of the PDFs have been made available in our shared google folder. As stated in our earlier email, we are really looking forward to exploring this space with you. Please feel free to invite UMD colleagues to join us as well. Additionally, please feel welcome and encouraged to add some of your favorite readings to our shared prison librarianship and teaching resources google sheet. While we certainly won’t get to all the materials in this google sheet, it is definitely helpful to have a common repository for these materials.
