MacLeod Lecture: Queerer and Queerer: 50 Years of LGBTQIA+ representation in books for young people
Established in 1999 by the University of Maryland College of Information Studies, the MacLeod lecture honors the work and passion of Anne Scott MacLeod, a noted authority on children’s literature and a faculty member emerita of the University of Maryland. The MacLeod lecture is devoted to introducing scholarly issues associated with children’s literature to a broad audience.
The 2021 Anne Scott MacLeod Lecture, “Queerer and Queerer: 50 Years of LGBTQIA+ representation in books for young people,” will offer a survey and conversation between reader/writer/publisher Arthur A. Levine and reader/writer/teacher Sarah Moon (MIDDLETOWN) on the journey from total invisibility to increased representation.
