The College of Information at the University of Maryland, College Park (INFO), invites applications for a full-time, professional track lecturer with expertise and interests in information design and visual communication. The successful candidate will possess a blend of technical, creative, and pedagogical skills, with a focus on advancing design theory and practice at the intersection of people, information, and technology.
The successful candidate will have teaching interests in one or more of the following areas:
- Design for information and communication: UX, Product, Visual, Graphic Design
- Interpreting complex data for visual presentation
- Creative interaction and novel interface design
- Creating visualizations based on investigative analyses of data
- Interactive, immersive, and digital media production
- Multimedia storytelling and/or multimodal narrative presentations
- Innovative applications and societal impacts of emerging technologies
