Stacy Merrill SurlaAdjunct Lecturer
Stacy Surla is a teacher, a practicing User Experience Strategist, and Vice President of MetaMetrics Inc. Ms. Surla helps clients, teams, and students design products and services that work well for their intended users. Stacy’s career spans more than 30 years, with a concentration on human-centered transformation in not-for-profit and government settings. Ms. Surla is an adjunct lecturer in the iSchool at the University of Maryland and an adjunct professor at Kent State University’s graduate IA/KM program.
In her practice, Ms. Surla is establishing a human-centered and design-thinking way of working, with the goal of helping people and programs solve big problems, especially in the areas of expression, engagement, invention, and knowledge. She is particularly interested in researching and driving effective approaches to integrating user experience into Agile development, and in the project of reframing information architecture as a discipline.
