BIO
John Carlo Bertot is Professor and Dean of in the College of Information at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD). Prior to serving as Dean, Bertot served as the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs at UMD from February 2016-July 2026. His research spans library technology planning and evaluation, information and telecommunications policy, and digital government. His work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Institute for Museum and Library Services, the American Library Association, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He is the author or co-author or over 100 articles, seven books, and five edited books. Bertot has served as editor of Government Information Quarterly and co-editor of Library Quarterly, and serves on the editorial board of several journals.
