BIO
Arif Kabir is a Senior Principal at Slalom and an adjunct faculty member in the University of Maryland’s HCIM program, where he teaches Interaction Design and Visual Design Studio courses. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management and Information Systems and a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Maryland.
With over a decade of experience leading digital transformation initiatives, Arif specializes in UX strategy, service design, and enterprise platform redesign within complex, multi-stakeholder environments. He has led large-scale experience initiatives for Fortune 500 organizations, guiding discovery, cross-functional alignment, and end-to-end solution design.
His interests focus on the intersection of design, leadership, and storytelling, examining how interaction and visual systems shape user behavior, organizational culture, and long-term impact. He also serves as Executive Director of Muslim Youth Musings, a literary nonprofit dedicated to cultivating reflective voices and advancing meaningful creative expression.
