Meet with a College Advisor
Winter 2024 Drop-in Advising hours:

Spring 2024 Drop-in Advising hours:
- January 24th, 9:30-11:30am – 1:30-3:30pm

*No undergraduate services are available March 18th-21st (spring break), May 10th (reading day), May 20th/21st (commencement)
How to Access Drop-in Advising:
- Complete our Drop-in Advising Google Form using your UMD Terpmail account. NOTE: This link is only active during designated drop-in hours (see above). If you experience an error, please ensure you are logged into CAS. This form is only open to UMD authenticated accounts. If your issue persists, please contact an undergraduate advisor at ugadvising.ischool@umd.edu for assistance.
- Please complete the form only once. Students will be seen in the order of their form submission.
- Virtual appointments will be sent an advising invitation with a zoom link via email to your UMD Terpmail email account. Join the link and wait for an ambassador to bring you in. In-person appointments may wait in the lobby area of HBK 0217, ground level, to be called.
- The advisor will give you 10 minutes to join the advising session before they move on to the next student.
Meet with a Undergraduate Ambassador (Current Student)
Current students (“Undergraduate Ambassadors”) are also available to answer your questions! Note: Undergraduate Ambassadors are not available during winter break, December 23, 2022 – January 24, 2023. Undergraduate Ambassador hours will resume in the Spring 2023 semester.
Ambassador Drop-In Hours are Fridays from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon AND 1:30pm to 4:00pm. Drop-in hours will be held both in-person in HBK 0217 and virtually via Zoom. See details below.
Ambassadors can assist with creating academic plans and answer basic questions about classes and prerequisites. They cannot assist with registration, policy exceptions, or advising blocks.
Undergraduate Ambassadors are available to assist with common questions about the major such as:
- What is the major like? What do you learn?
- What are some good classes to take together?
- What are some options for upper-level electives? Do I have to do a specialization?
- How do I fill out an Academic Plan?
- What should I do if I want to add another major or study abroad?
**PLEASE NOTE: UNDERGRADUATE AMBASSADORS CANNOT LIFT BLOCKS OR ISSUE REGISTRATION PERMISSIONS**
