Yimin is a PhD student at UMD iSchool where she works with Dr. Ge Gao. Her research interests lie in computer-mediated communication, computer-supported cooperative work, human-computer interaction, and applied linguistics. She studies how people use language for communicative and social functions, how technology mediates the communication process, and how to design technology to better support human interaction. She obtained her MA in Linguistic Studies, MS in Applied Data Science, and CAS in Language Teaching from Syracuse University in 2021, and bachelor’s degrees in Information Management and Information System and English from Shanghai International Studies University in 2018.
