WHAT: Dr. Colleen Shogan will speak in-person at the University of Maryland about her journey from historian to overseeing the national archives as the 11th Archivist of the U.S., challenges during that time, and advice for presidents. Dr. Shogun will also share her vision for the future of archives in the U.S. around public participation, remaining non-partisan, and if AI can be a solution to dealing with billions of records. Members of the press are invited to attend.

HOW: All members of the press must register in advance. To request a one-on-one interview slot, please register by Wednesday, February 18 EOD. The day of the event, registered members of the press should check in at the event registration table. For press scheduled for a one-on-one interview, event staff will meet you at the end of the event and escort you.
Please note: Outside photography and videography by media outlets will be allowed. Members of the press may not ask questions during the live event or Q&A, however they can pre-submit questions on the registration form—and can request a one-on-one post-event interview time (limited availability).
