Bio:
Tanya Marshall is Vermont’s State Archivist and Chief Records Officer and directs the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration, a division within the Vermont Office of the Secretary of State responsible for administering the Statewide Records and Information Management Program. In 2013, Marshall received the Society of American Archivist’s Emerging Leader Award and, in 2017, was the recipient of the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators’ Bruce Dearstyne Distinguished Service Award. She is an iSchool alumna.

Abstract:
In this talk, Ms. Marshall will discuss the innovative, enterprise-wide approaches Vermont takes for managing and preserving public records and data. She will also discuss her role in balancing legal recordkeeping requirements and information governance best practices with emerging technologies and policies to assure continued access to authentic and reliable records and information through time.
