Innovations in Development: Community-Driven Project That Adapt Technology for Environmental Learning in Nature Preserves

This Innovations in Development project will engage members of diverse communities associated with three partner nature preserves: the Anacostia Watershed Society close to Washington, DC, Reedy Creek Nature Center, Charlotte, NC, and the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies in Aspen, CO, in local nature and environmental conservation projects of their choosing. By adapting and designing new features of NatureNet (NN), an existing NSF funded multitouch tabletop technology platform that utilizes mobile devices, participants will develop and carry out technology assisted projects that support their own informal science learning that the project team expects will foster positive scientific dispositions.
