Welcome to Marivel Soria, a New Academic Advisor for Undergraduate Programs

We are delighted to introduce Marivel Soria, iSchool's new Academic Advisor for undergraduate programs. Marivel joined the iSchool this week, and will work with the rest of the InfoSci team and the iSchool faculty and staff to help our undergraduate students have the best academic experience in the InfoSci program.

Marivel Soria is a southern California native graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Master of Education in Student Affairs and an undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). For the last five years, Marivel has served students in a college access and student affairs capacity, more recently, as an Assistant Resident Director for UCLA Residential Life. Her research interest include student retention and persistence, leadership development, and critical race theory. In her current role, she serves as the Academic Advisor for the iSchool undergraduate program.  Outside of work, Marivel enjoys outdoor hikes with her dogs, painting, and exploring new coffee shops.
