Student Job Opportunity: Communications for UMD Libraries

Graduate student
10 – 15 hours per week
 
Gain hands-on, resume-building experience while developing communications strategies in an academic library. The student assistant reports to Director of Communications and works within a team environment to communicate and market the value of the University Libraries to the academic community.  
 
Duties may include:
 
·         Drafting, proofreading, and posting news releases and announcements.
·         Identifying images for and updating news items on University Libraries website.
·         Creating and posting announcements for public information screens and campus calendars.
·         Updating media list.
·         Recording guest speakers.
·         Assisting in planning and executing special events.
·         Contributing content to social media accounts.
·         Supporting fundraising and other activities in Dean’s Office by helping with general office tasks.

For best consideration, applicants should provide evidence of strong writing skills, familiarity with Photoshop and/or Adobe software, and ability to work independently.
