iSchool Students Take Part in National Library Legislative Day

On April 23rd and 24th, ten school library media candidates from the College of Information Studies, Maryland’s iSchool, spoke with congressional representatives from across the nation as part of National Library Legislative Day. Other students participated virtually by calling and writing their representatives. Their message? Library media specialists and library media programs support the K-12 curriculum by providing resources and training so that both students and teachers become independent users of information.

National Library Legislative Day is an annual event sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA), Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (COSLA), the District of Columbia Library Association (DCLA) and the Special Libraries Association (SLA).
