iDiversity Launches Re-designed Website

The iSchool’s iDiversity group has launched their re-designed website at idiversity.umd.edu, featuring a new online community and their blog. iDiversity, a student-led group focused on promoting awareness of diversity, inclusivity, and accessibility within the information profession, invites all iSchool students, faculty and alumni, as well as other information professionals, to engage in further discussion.

Membership to the online community is now open to all interested individuals. You may take a tour and view community guidelines at: http://idiversity.umd.edu/members/help.

In addition, iDiversity is currently seeking contributors for their blog at: http://idiversity.umd.edu/blog/. Possible topics include but are not limited to:

-Representation in the field and building a diverse workforce
-Accessibility and technology design
-Librarianship for specific populations
-Advocacy, policy, and civic participation
-Representation in research and LIS education
-Information seeking behaviors and social media
-Diversity solutions in human-computer interaction
-International information issues
-Diversity and information management
-Archiving the histories of underrepresented groups
