Katherine (Kate) joined the University of Maryland (UMD) College of Information Studies (iSchool) in 2018 as the Director of Academic Programs. In 2020, Kate was appointed the iSchool's Assistant Dean of Academic Programs. She previously worked as UMD’s Undergraduate and Graduate Director for Terrorism Studies and as the Education Director for UMD’s National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START). Kate has broad experience in educational policy and academic administration, as well as over a decade of teaching and research experience in interdisciplinary social sciences. Kate remains an Investigator with START and holds a faculty affiliation with the UMD Department of Anthropology. She is also a lecturer at the iSchool.
