Expanding the Lilead Fellows Program from one cohort to a sustainable program available to all library leaders in school districts across the country would allow more school library leaders to carry out the vision of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Prior to Dr. Weeks’ appointment at Maryland’s iSchool, she was Director of Library and Information Services for the Chicago Public Schools, Executive Director of the youth divisions at the American Library Association, and Coordinator for the National Library Power Program. She serves as the director of the Lilead Project, which works to study, support, and build community among school district library supervisors—those individuals that coordinate a school district’s library programs. The project looks at the many facets of the supervisor’s role, the ways in which we can support them, and opportunities to help these individuals connect with one another.
