Dr. Ashwin J. Mathew is a visiting scholar at the UC Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity, a fellow at the Slow Science Institute, and a researcher at Packet Clearing House.

Description: Drawing from ethnographic research into communities of cybersecurity engineers and network administrators across North America and South Asia, this talk reveals how Internet infrastructure is a sociotechnical system, made from interactions between different forms of power - of states, markets, and technical communities - built on value-laden forms of technology.
