Recruiting
The Student Services Office is the College’s primary repository of employment opportunities. It manages the posting of job notices to the job board on the ground floor of Hornbake and to the College website. The staff provides referrals to potential employers.

In addition to sharing information via the listserv or distributing it to specific individuals, the Student Services Office coordinates job-hunting activities for the students. Sessions on interviewing, resume writing, dressing for success are provided to help students prepare for the job search. Prospective employers visit campus to recruit, employers such as Milwaukee Public Library, the U.S. Department of Transportation, Enoch Pratt Free Library, InfoCurrent, Sacramento Public Library, the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, etc.

The faculty and student organizations are also part of the network that distributes job information. Student groups have hosted panel presentations by different types of employers and mentoring events by the iSchool Graduates. Faculty share job notices from their colleagues in the profession and refer graduates to potential employers. Networking is essential.
