iSchool Doctoral student, Leshell Hatley, was recently awarded the 2009-2010 Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship. Google is proud to sponsor the scholarship to honor Ms. Borg’s memory and support women in technology. With this award, Google hopes to encourage women to excel in computing and technology and become active role models and leaders in the field.

The scholarship is awarded based on the strength of each candidate’s academic background and demonstrated leadership.  All scholarship recipients and finalists will be invited to attend the Annual Google Scholars’ Retreat in Mountain View, California on June 25-28, 2009.
