The Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference has selected Bruce Ambacher to receive its Distinguished Service Award for 2008.  The award was given to Dr. Ambacher’s for his long service to both MARAC and to the archival community overall.  It recognizes his service to MARAC as newsletter editor, Steering Committee member, Program Committee Chair, MARAC Chair, and frequent conference presenter.  It also recognizes his contributions to the profession during his career at NARA, service to the Society of American Archivists, and service as an archival educator, first at George Mason University and now as a visiting professor at the University of Maryland’s iSchool.  The award will be presented at MARAC’s spring conference at Chautauqua, NY on May 2nd.
