Practice Settings and Primary Responsibilities

Youth Services Librarians are employed in Children’s and Young Adults Services Divisions in public libraries throughout the country providing a wide variety of activities including: Reference Services; Collection Development for Children’s and Young Adult Materials; Bibliographic Instruction; Literacy Promotion; Reader Advisory Services; Story Hours; Community Outreach; Technology Training; School Collaboration; Programming for Children and Teens; Summer Reading Programs; Book Discussion Groups
