Resources
Overview
The College of Information Studies has a small inventory of resources available for short-term check-out to faculty on behalf of registered iSchool students and for use in support of iSchool academic course work.
Equipment loans are a student privilege (not a right) and are based on equipment and staff availability. Equipment is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be reserved at least three (3) days in advance of the pickup date. All equipment may be checked out for four (4) calendar days at a time. Training on loaner equipment is not provided.
To be eligible to borrow equipment, the student must:
- be registered in a College of Information Studies course in the current semester
- have iSchool faculty approval for the loan
- present a valid UM identification card
- be in good standing with the College Equipment Loan Program
Students are expected to safeguard the equipment while it is in their care, and are held accountable for loss, theft, or damage.
Equipment will only be checked in and out when College IT staff are present. The student and sponsoring faculty member are jointly responsible for on-time return of borrowed equipment.
