Alumni & Friends

For more than 40 years, our alumni have been shaping the future of information. These alumni are a community of success stories, taking leadership positions at top libraries and other information resource organizations worldwide and providing innovative solutions to challenges of access and management.

Meet Susan Fifer Canby ’74 M.L.S., who retired in 2010 after a 32-year career with the National Geographic Society, where she used her iSchool education to help lead the organization’s libraries and information services into the digital age.

Or Glennor Shirley ’92 M.L.S., who as head of library services for the state of Maryland corrections system, developed a program that teaches inmates the digital skills they’ll need upon release, including searching for employment, getting housing and health information or helping their children with homework.

Graduates can stay connected through our alumni chapter—whether to address continuing education needs, provide opportunities to mentor current iSchool students, maintain professional and personal contact or recognize the professional achievements of our graduates.

We welcome you to come back to your alma mater and to participate in and support the college. You can also stay in touch with the iSchool through our Twitter account.
