Giving to the iSchool

You can help Maryland’s iSchool by contributing to the Great Expectations Campaign.

iSchool Campaign priorities:

Creating the Next Generation of Information Professionals

We have a critical need for graduate fellowships to meet the demand for information professionals and to enable us to attract the best and the brightest.  Greater numbers of exceptional students will, in turn, help us to attract star faculty and generate new and exciting research.  Maryland has always taken a leadership position in providing the people who staff the libraries and archives in our state’s schools, communities and businesses-we must continue to provide professionals who keep pace with changes and innovation in technology and the information field.

Attract and retain world class faculty

To move to greatness, we must be able to attract internationally recognized faculty and the rising stars in the information profession.  We have made a strong start in recruiting 12 faculty members over the past two years. We must develop the resources to create the endowed professorships and chairs that will allow us to attract and retain the leading teachers and researchers in information specialties.

Creating an Atmosphere of Innovation

The iSchool’s research activities are shaping information management in the 2lst century.
We need to create key centers such as CIPEG and CASCI to catalyze the research and partnerships to promote and disseminate knowledge and affect information policy.  This work requires start-of-the art facilities so we can provide a superb teaching and research environment.
