Coordinator
DUTIES:
The Coordinator is a fulltime exempt staff member who provides executive level assistance and support to the Dean of the College of Information Studies as a member of the Administrative Team reporting to the Director of Administrative Services. To fulfill this responsibility, the Coordinator keeps the Dean’s calendar online; coordinates the Dean’s activities; provides administrative support to the Dean and faculty members; ensures security and office coverage in the Dean’s suite; assists in preparing reports; coordinates booking of rooms and space usage; orders materials and provides support for iSchool meetings such as search committees, the Collegium, Steering Committee, and staff meetings; maintains personnel files for faculty and staff ensuring contracts and appointments are accurate and done in a timely fashion; and undertakes other related responsibilities. The Coordinator is an essential part of the staff and must be able to work with faculty, staff, and students efficiently and effectively to accomplish the work of the office. As one of the most visible staff members, the Coordinator must possess and project a professional attitude toward the job and the College.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The applicant must be able to coordinate, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks; coordinate work teams effectively; take personal initiative in executing the job responsibilities; work independently and collaboratively to solve problems in the office as needed; learn and apply university policies appropriately; use e-mail, Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle Calendar and scheduling software; and learn other technology applications as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education; experience and training that indicate an ability to manage office functions effectively including special events. At least three years of appropriate administrative experience and administrative experience in a university setting are highly desirable. Starting Salary: $38,112 commensurate with experience.
